Bombus fraternus is a more southeastern bumble bee in the U.S. and tends to be rare throughout its range. It has been suggested to be limited in distribution to high quality grasslands or riverine ecosystems. The species is more abundant in the southern Midwestern states, although it also extends northerly into the great plains states. In Michigan it is limited to the far south and in Minnesota likely only occurs in the southern and western parts. |
