Curriculum Vita

I have always enjoyed making and designing websites as an artistic outlet, probably because it's considerably cheaper and easier than woodworking, pottery, or any similar form of expression. Since I love it so much I often end up designing things for groups and organizations around campus. It's gotten to the point that I have an actual portfolio, so I thought I'd get my act together and post some things online. I do all my web design in Windows Notepad and all the graphic design in JASC Paint Shop Pro 7. You can click the thumbnails for a larger view, and I've linked to the websites that still exist.

Department of Entomology
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC)

I designed this website for my department in 2006, and I continue to maintain it. It was my first attempt at using stylesheets instead of tables. It's not perfect, but I think it turned out well enough.

The Hanks Lab
UIUC

My advisor asked me to redesign his lab website in 2008. My knowledge of CSS had improved considerably by this point.

This website was for the eponymous entomology-related event in 2008.

Amy Richardson Art

An art website I designed for a friend.

Entomology Graduate Students Association
UIUC

This was my first website upon arriving at the university. I was still stuck in a table mentality, so the internal framework of this website is, shall we say, less than stellar. Still, it doesn't look half-bad.

IB109 Class Website
UIUC

This was a quick site I made for Insects and People, a class I was TAing at at the time. A goal was to try and make something good for mobile users.

T-Shirt Design
26th Annual Insect Fear Film Festival

Not exactly a website, but it's graphic design, so close enough. This was the winning entry for the 2009 Insect Fear Film Festival t-shirt.

Schedule of Events
National Pollinator Week in Champaign-Urbana

It took me forever to design this poster, so I'm not about to leave it off this list and let it fade into obscurity.
